REVOV has introduced a Trade-Up programme that gives installers a new way to reconnect with customers who have older REVOV battery systems, to turn those relationships into upgrade opportunities.
The programme allows qualifying REVOV batteries to be professionally assessed, with their remaining value put towards the purchase of a new REVOV battery. For installers, it creates a reason to revisit sites they may have installed several years ago rather than waiting for a customer to call when something goes wrong.
Qualifying models currently include the R100, R200, R9, B100, B220 and C8, provided they are more than three years old. REVOV assesses each battery based on its age, condition, serial number, and available battery management system data to determine a Trade-Up value.
“Many installers already have a base of REVOV customers they know well, and some of those systems are now reaching the point where an upgrade starts to make sense,” says REVOV MD Lance Dickerson. “Trade-Up gives them a practical reason to start that conversation. The customer gets value from the battery they already own, while the installer has the opportunity to secure the next installation.”
REVOV will also generate customer interest in the programme and, where applicable, route Trade-Up enquiries back to the installer of record. Participating installers retain their full standard margin on the new REVOV battery, with the Trade-Up credit reflected as part of the transaction rather than through a separate fee, bonus, or credit note process.
The assessment process is handled by REVOV’s technical team. Installers can retrieve the required BMS data via an RS232 connection with remote REVOV support or, when needed, use an ESPBMS unit to collect the information remotely.
Once the required information has been received, REVOV assesses the battery and prepares a Trade-Up value offer. The offer remains valid for 14 days and can be included in the installer’s quotation for the new system. Customers who proceed receive a new REVOV battery with a new 10-year warranty.
Extending the value of existing batteries
The programme also gives REVOV greater visibility over what happens to older batteries once they leave a customer site.
Every returned battery is assessed for its remaining usable life and condition. Where suitable, units may be repurposed for second-life applications or used as appropriate warranty replacements. Other batteries can provide parts for technical support and repair work.
“We do not see an older battery as something that automatically has to be written off. There may still be usable value in the system, and that value should be understood before a replacement decision is made. Bringing those batteries back into a controlled technical environment gives us more options than simply treating them as waste,” says Dickerson.
REVOV has also developed an installer toolkit containing customer information sheets, checklists and marketing material to help participating installers identify qualifying customers and guide them through the process.
For installers with REVOV systems already in the field, the opportunity may therefore be sitting in their existing customer base rather than in the next new lead.
